## Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to develop traffic management plans.
  • Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices, such as signs, barricades, cones, and barrels, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Direct motorists by using hand signals and signage, ensuring safe passage through or around construction zones and road closures.
  • Communicate effectively with the general public, addressing any concerns or questions regarding traffic detours and restrictions.
  • Monitor and adjust traffic control plans to accommodate changing site conditions and ensure minimal disruptions.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services for coordinated traffic flow and safety measures.
  • Maintain records of traffic management activities and report any incidents or safety concerns.

    ## Qualifications
  • Proven experience in traffic management or a related field, with a strong understanding of road knowledge and regulations.
  • Certification in Traffic Control (e.g., ATSSA, MUTCD) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while adhering to safety standards and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills with a capacity for clear and concise instructions.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in a variety of weather conditions.

    ## Day-to-Day
  • Start your day by reviewing the traffic control plans and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices before and after construction activities or events.
  • Engage with team members to adjust plans and implement changes as required by project conditions.
  • Communicate directly with project managers and relevant stakeholders to provide updates and receive feedback.
  • Monitor traffic conditions throughout the shift, ensuring that traffic flows smoothly and safely.
  • End your day by documenting tasks completed, compiling reports on site safety, and participating in team debriefings to discuss any improvements or issues encountered.
